We are delighted to announce Erica Hahn as the new Rotary President for the 2024-25 year, starting July 1, 2024.
Erica Hahn was born in New York City and grew up in Los Angeles and Cincinnati, Ohio. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania and a law degree from U.C. Berkeley. Throughout the majority of her career, she served as an administrative law judge with the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board.
Erica’s journey with Rotary began when her son was sponsored by the Sierra Madre Club to attend RYLA. Her experience attending club meetings with him sparked a love for the organization, and she resolved to join Rotary when the opportunity arose. Upon retiring in 2014, she fulfilled that goal by joining the Monrovia Club, a decision she has never regretted.
Beyond her dedication to Rotary, Erica is a passionate genealogist currently researching and writing a book for the Mayflower Society. She is also actively involved with the Eaton Canyon Nature Center and the Los Angeles Arboretum. Additionally, Erica enjoys cultural pursuits and holds season tickets for the Los Angeles Opera and A Noise Within, a Pasadena Repertory Theatre.
When asked about her thoughts on Rotary, Erica stated:
It is the best organization of which I know for service to both the community and the world, camaraderie, and sheer fun. I believe in the Rotary motto, ‘Service above self,’ which is, I think, the force that binds us. As president, I want to be a good steward of this remarkable club in the remarkable town of Monrovia. If any of this appeals, come join us for lunch on almost any Tuesday, and see what it is all about.
Please join us in welcoming Erica Hahn as our new president and supporting her in her efforts to lead our club to new heights.
